Welcome to PICCS!

PICCS was established in 2004 as the Photo Imaging Council's Compliance Scheme to promote industry awareness and action for companies affected by the WEEE Regulations. Although PICCS has its own compliance focus, it sits as an industry sub-group within the Budget Pack compliance scheme.

What does PICCS do?

Budget Pack, powers the PICCS scheme and provides specialist support for companies involved with photographic and imaging products.  Over the past three years we have built up many industry-specific resources for PICCS members including:

  1. Compliance scheme registration support for manufacturers, retailers and importers in Republic of Ireland and other EC Member States.
  2. Working groups, stakeholder representation and lobbying for producers of Imaging, Printing and Medical products throughout the development of the UK Regulations and guidance.
  3. Integration with the European Photo Imaging Association (EPIA) on data issues such as scope and product classification to assist producers across EU Member States.
  4. Specialist workshops and one-to-one training for strategic planning and project planning; specialist scope position documents and data advice.
  5. Input and feedback channels directly with the Government's DTI Implementation Team, Distributor Takeback Scheme (DTS), the WEEE Scheme Forum (for which Budget Pack is a founder member) and various other stakeholder and consultation groups.

Members of PICCS can look forward to low cost accurate compliance into the future as the innovative partnership between the Photo Imaging Association and Budget Pack continues to develop and enters other areas of legislation.
