Budget Pack - Safe UK Compliance Scheme (10/04/2008)
The Environment Agency has praised Budget Pack for its professionalism saying “I wish all schemes were as supportive and conscientious [for their members] as Budget Pack".
Budget Pack's has continued its membership growth during the past 6 years of compliance scheme experience and has underpinned this expansion with continual improvements in system integrity.
However, not all schemes have been doing so well and many are thought to have adopted risky strategies to try and achieve their requirements for recycling evidence.
The press has reported a major commercial dispute between two rival producer compliance schemes REPIC and Electrolink, where the former has insufficient collection sites to meet its Business to Consumer (B2C) WEEE evidence requirements whist the later has secured significantly more sites and WEEE evidence than its needs. Budget Pack is in the stronger position of having arrangements in place to secure all B2C evidence without having to engage in market disputes.
For compliance schemes to maintain their registration they must demonstrate they are working with other compliance schemes. Budget Pack is an active member of the WEEE Scheme Forum (WSF); a collective of UK WEEE Compliance Schemes. The WSF shares knowledge and common issues, it is supported by the Environment Agency who, participate in the meetings to help resolve issues and update the WSF on progress in the enforcement of The WEEE regulations
If you would like to discuss any aspects of the WEEE regulations or how you can recycle electrical waste in your business then please contact Budget Pack on 0845 094 2228.
