The Environment Agency (EA) is currently carrying out a series of audits for Producers to ensure the information a company has provided its compliance scheme is accurate.
An audit generally focuses on a particular compliance period e.g. 2007 and to ensure the audit is effective the following is required:
· access to all primary records which have been used in preparing the information a company has supplied to its compliance scheme
· provision of office space to carry out the inspection of all relevant documents
· availability of relevant member(s) of staff to answer queries
· a site tour to verify activities being performed
