Budget Pack offers multi-regulation compliance for PIC members (20/10/2009)

At the PIC meeting held in central London last week (6th October), Budget Pack was confirmed as the PIC compliance scheme operator for the Batteries Regulations, following approval on the 30th September.

The compliance market has been very turbulent in recent weeks with initial non-accreditation by the Environment Agency of nine WEEE schemes and one batteries scheme.

Budget Pack has been approved as a batteries compliance scheme which means they can now provide total compliance across the three producer responsibility regulations, so that members of PIC can register through one scheme for all their compliance needs.

Budget Pack has been a leading compliance scheme since 2003 and is pleased that their effort to provide simple, cost effective compliance for members has been recognised through this approval. This allows them to provide tailored, flexible compliance across the Packaging, WEEE and Batteries regulations.

It is encouraging that Budget Pack has had its operational plans approved at a crucial time where other schemes have not. This shows the strength of Budget Pack’s scheme integrity and recognition of its stability.

Victoria Wood, Environment Manager at Sky said “BSkyB have selected Budget Pack as their Batteries Compliance Scheme as they have an innovative approach to ensure secure, lower cost recycling evidence is provided to their members. We also recognise the time savings they provide through a personal approach and simple systems for data submission and collections”
