secure accurate compliance

The WEEE Regulations

The WEEE Regulations took effect from 2nd January 2007 and aims to reduce the amount of electrical waste being sent to landfill.  The Regulations place obligations on many different types of companies handling electrical equipment and took effect from 2nd January 2007.  An estimated 6,000 - 20,000 companies will have to take action this year to comply with the requirements and avoid prosecution. You can read more by clicking on the Regulations .

What's involved?

If you manufacture or import electrical equipment into the UK, the WEEE Regulations require you to register with a producer compliance scheme, such as Budget Pack, and cover the cost of recycling a certain amount of waste electrical equipment. The Regulations apply to both products supplied for the purpose of domestic and business use.  If you sell electrical equipment to the general public, you must facilitate the take-back of waste electrical equipment free of charge from your customers.  Read more about our WEEE Services .
